What is SIP Trunking?

Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking is a voice-over IP (VoIP) protocol that allows internet telephony to be delivered via
SIP-based IP-PBX and Unified Communications platforms, creating a virtual link between these technologies and the standard phone network (i.e. the PSTN). By doing so, it effectively consolidates traditional lines with modern voice and data services.
