Increasing productivity, efficiency and service quality
Sharing the way organisations provide their services is rapidly becoming the common approach in the current age of austerity. Unsurprisingly, Shared Services is today a hot topic in board level discussions. By removing unnecessary overheads and service duplication, the savings through Shared Services arrangements can be vast, with some reports estimating it could slash budgets by hundreds of millions of pounds.
The cost of IT services in particular make up a large part of most organisations’ budgets. Balancing the procurement of efficient, leading-edge services and working within strict financial constraints is challenging. So for many, sharing services is a key solution.
A network enabling Shared Services
IT infrastructure is often seen as a barrier to Shared Services, particularly in the Public Sector, with organisations unable to connect their networks without expensive and often complex deployments. Delivered using Virtual Private LAN Service (VPLS) technology, our network is designed for sharing services. Our VPLS Layer 2 Network technology enables geographically-diverse locations to connect together as if on the same Local Area Network (LAN). This makes it ideal for sharing services.
Importantly, VPLS enables the provision of multiple services such as Voice, video and data over a single access circuit, and, most importantly for security, keeps these services separate from each other. As a result, Public Sector and Private Sector organisations are able to access services on our Service Creation Platform with simplicity, economy of scale, security, separation and Quality of Service.
