Third Internet Gateway Increases Network Resilience and Improves Route Speeds
Exponential-e, the specialist provider of bespoke Ethernet WAN solutions for enterprises, has joined MaNAP, the Manchester based Internet Exchange. The decision means that Exponential-e now has three physically separate IP gateways on its UK network, improving general resilience, diversity and network availability. Since the new gateway is located over 200miles from the existing gateways, membership has also reduced the possibility of network downtime should a disaster occur.
“Internet usage typically plays a huge role in our customers’ communication strategy”, commented Lee Wade, MD, Exponential-e.
Whether it’s a media group who needs to move video clips between studios and post-production, or a finance house requiring the latest share price from the World’s stock exchanges, maximum uptime and the fastest possible speeds are fundamental to our delivering a good service that exceeds customer requirements. Joining MaNAP adds that additional, higher level of resilience and diversity”.
Exponential-e takes Transit from five Tier 1 providers, offering the fastest routes to 95% of the world’s destinations. …more The MaNAP exchange is fully redundant across four physical sites. It is designed with redundant dark fibre connections between Ethernet switches located at switch sites. These redundant connections ensure that in the event of failure of any single dark fibre connection members remain able to route traffic to all other members regardless of the site they are connected at.
