Steven is a 20-year veteran of the service provider and equipment maker side of the ICT industry across four continents. He’s most passionate about the need to deliver value through IT and to not stop at simply delivering profit or functionality.

An engineer by trade having earned more than 15 certifications across the full spectrum of information & communications technologies, he’s spent his more recent years working with service providers and vendors to improve their go-to-market strategies and make the most of the transition from buy-and-build to cloud and managed services.

Gary Barton - Principal Analyst, Business Network and IT Services

As a Principal Analyst on the Current Analysis Business Network and IT Services team, Gary covers business telecoms services including data WAN and access services, unified communications, SME services and the UK public sector.

Gary leads Current Analysis' research for the UK B2B telecoms market and also contributes to coverage of the Europe B2B telecoms market and the UK wholesale market. Gary joined Current Analysis in 2007. Gary has previously been involved with the Enterprise VPN Users Association (EVUA), regularly attending their European conferences in an organisational/support role. Gary also has experience working with the airline co-operative Star Alliance, co-authoring and editing internal white papers.

Gary, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, in the UK, has a BA (Hons) in Classics and Ancient History and a Master's Degree (MA) in Ancient World Studies. Gary is also an elected Member of Cheshire East Borough Council.
