A brief overview of history clearly shows how we have implemented our ethos of ‘Applied Innovation’:
2002:
Exponential-e was founded in October 2002 with the clear vision that IP and Ethernet were the future of networking and telecommunication. Lee Wade and the co-founders established that there was a gap in the market place for a company which delivered technical excellence, true quality of service to the end customer and exceptional service ethos. In 2002, we were the first UK company to launch Internet over Ethernet. This seriously disrupted the old world of leased lines.
2004:
This was improved in 2004 with the introduction of our intelligent Route 1 algorithm – a route sampling engine guaranteeing our customers the fastest Internet service available in the UK.
2005-2006:
In 2005, we designed and built the first ever VPLS network in Europe and launched it in January 2006. Today, our 10Gig VPLS network reach extends throughout the UK, Europe and the Eastern seaboard of the USA and forms the foundation of our ‘Smart Wires’ approach to cloud computing.
By 2006 Exponential-e had expanded to 52 employees. The network continued to expand nationally, client retention had remained at 100% and the number of clients had reached 350.
2007-2008:
During 2007, we invested £5m to build the essential network required to launch our award winning service PowerNGN in January 2008. This service allowed us to deliver multiple services securely at layer 2 utilising our EDD (Ethernet Demarcation Device) across one fibre. This innovation delivers multiple features and benefits for our customers, but most of all, it offered a price saving of 70% over the cost of traditional leased lines and led the way in the UK – and today, still remains unmatched by any UK provider.
2010:
In 2010, we launched A³ – our cloud-based Internet and WAN service that allows our clients to view and control the traffic flows traversing their network without the need for any hardware. You simply plug in our cable for total visibility and control. This is truly a global first innovation and in June 2010, we won the Global Business Telecoms 2010 award for Business Innovation.
For the last four years we have featured in the Tech Track 100 as one of the fastest growing technology companies in the UK. We have received many accreditations and awards within the industry for our business model and technology.
